UDAN a.k.a. 'Ude Desh ka Aam Nagarik' is a regional connectivity scheme that aims to link remote locations of the country by air at a subsided fare by developing smaller regional airports across the nation allowing common citizens to have easier access to aviation services.

Under UDAN 4.0, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has added 78 new routes for affordable flights to boost connectivity in 12 under-served and 31 unserved airports mainly in the North East, hilly states, and islands of the country. The routes have been designed and approved in a way to cover important cities and other locations in the Northeastern states such as Guwahati, Tezu, Imphal, Rupsi, Aizawl, Tezpur, Agartala, Dibrugarh, Shillong, Passighat, Misa, Geleki, Jorhat, Agatti, Minicoy, Kavaratti, Dimapur, Silchar, Dibrugarh etc, improving their connectivity with the major cities of the nation, for instance, Kolkata.

IG Drones, India’s Leading Enterprise Drone Solution Providers is playing a vital role in fulfilling the purpose of UDAN 4.0. The northeastern part of India is full of rough patches of hills, plateaus, dense forests, basically the landforms that are inaccessible to human beings. Our drones well equipped with high-resolution cameras, GIS Topographical mapping techniques are capable of carrying out surveys of the areas where the airports have been proposed to be constructed. It's necessary for all airports to have flawless infrastructure such as runway, taxiway, control tower etc else it might lead to devastating unforeseen accidents. But taking into account the COVID scenario, it's quite difficult for the site engineers to keep a regular eye on the ongoing construction. That’s where the role of the drone comes to play. The use of drones in construction has leveraged the opportunity to obtain up-to-date images of the construction sites in real-time. It allows the contractors to monitor any issue, track progress and develop better plans on-site by providing an unrivalled view of a site at a fraction of the cost. This has largely been related to various aspects of a construction project from deploying labour, material wastage, site inspection, and an overall return on investment.

Recently, IG Drones conducted a drone survey for two airports in NE India i.e. Kohima Airport, Nagaland and Ambikapur Airport, Chhattisgarh. A team of 3 highly qualified drone pilots conducted the survey with the help of specialised drones with terrain following sensors. The drones carefully surveyed the undulation and plain surfaces of the Kohima and Ambikapur airport respectively, finally generating a detailed contoured, Orthomosaic 3D Model with features marking, DTM and Point in AutoCAD.

From preconstruction to operations & maintenance, IG Drones have proven to be of great use in order to stimulate every phase of a construction project. There is seamless integration and collaboration of resources and stakeholders, with data being shared in real-time. A complete rendering of a Jobsite helps in evaluating the flaws and loopholes well in advance. This, in turn, ensures a better project management approach with reduced project timelines, accurate site inventories, improved communications, and improved safety of the workers.

IG Drones aims to endeavour hard and keep providing its services to make the UDAN Scheme a grand success. Let's make ‘Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik’ come true.
